TRAINING FOR TQA CERTIFICATION (TRANSPORT QUALITY ASSURANCE)

In recent years, Canadian animal welfare laws and regulations have required that livestock transporters in Canada and elsewhere be familiar with techniques for handling animals in a manner consistent with societal expectations.

The CDPQ offers transporters and producer-transporters the opportunity to participate in training to obtain or renew their TQA certification (Transport Quality Assurance).

BIOSECURITY TRAINING

The CDPQ has developed training capsules on biosecurity as part of a project funded by MAPAQ and Les Éleveurs de porcs du Québec.

These capsules are available on Wiki - Transport.

USING ULTRASOUND TECHNOLOGY (also available for species other than pigs)

Today, the CDPQ is a reference point in Canada for measurements using ultrasound, both for commercial producers and for stakeholders in various fields. This expertise, initially developed for pork production, is now available for several other animal species (e.g., sheep, cattle, wild boar, fish).
