Aim / objectives:
In order to improve cohabitation, demonstrate that the new generation of pig barns (with 2/3 or more of the floor surface area being composed of slats) have less odors than older barns.
  • Establish a simplified methodology for measuring odor emissions to reduce the costs of this type of quantification;
  • Quantify the emissions of odors emanating from growing-finishing pig barns according to their type of floor.
