$imul-lysine

CLICK TO ACCESS THE SIMULATION TOOL

$imul-Lysine is a practical implement designed specifically for specialists in swine nutrition. It enables users to estimate the impact of a change in lysine intake on subsequent animal performance: average daily gain, feed efficiency, lean yield.

By entering observed performance data for a given concentration of digestible lysine in the ration, the user can obtain an estimate of performances for a different level of digestible lysine.

Development/Funding

$IMUL-Lysine was designed by Joel Rivest, Ph.D., analyst at CDPQ, in collaboration with Daniel Boyaud, M.Sc., Groupe Cérès inc.

The $IMUL-Lysine and $IMUL-Grading tools were developed as part of a study by CDPQ on the interaction between the breeding scheme and feed type to identify strategies that improve the profitability of swine operations.

A portion of the funding for this project was provided through the Quebec, Ontario and Saskatchewan sector councils that carry out the Canadian Agricultural Adaptation Program (CAAP) on behalf of Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada.
